<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which spectral reflectance of a black matrix is controlled to be lowest at a peak wavelength in the absorption spectrum of a-Si by taking the emission spectrum of a backlight into consideration, and the light leakage current of a TFT is decreased. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with: an array substrate having a TFT having a semiconductor film formed in each pixel region; a color filter substrate; and a backlight. A black matrix on the color filter substrate comprises a metallic light shielding film and antireflection films formed on both faces of the metal light shielding film, in which the film thickness of the antireflection film on the side of the array substrate is controlled to satisfy such a condition that the bottom wavelength in the spectral reflection of the antireflection film on the side of the array substrate for the light from the backlight overlaps the peak wavelength of the spectral sensitivity of a light leakage current in the semiconductor film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
