<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which forms an image excellent in printing resistance and excellent also in resolving power even when post- exposure heating is not carried out, significantly diminishes waste liquor due to replenishment with a developing solution, can significantly diminish development scum accumulating in a developing bath and enables long-term stable processing. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming method, a negative image forming material obtained by disposing on a support an image recording layer comprising (A) a radical generator, (B) a radical-polymerizable compound, (C) an IR absorbent and (D) a binder polymer is imagewise exposed with infrared laser light and developed with an alkali developing solution containing an alkali silicate and a nonionic surfactant having an aromatic ring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
