<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion picture coding device for generating a proper predicted motion vector, in a processing MB (macroblock) by utilizing a motion vector of each of MBs adjacent to each other, and eliminating the need for newly added information. <P>SOLUTION: An inter-coding prediction value generating section 9 is provided with a weighting coefficient calculating section for determining a weighting coefficient to be given to the motion vector of a coded MB adjacent thereto, on the basis of coding efficiency in the coded MB adjacent thereto; and a prediction motion vector generating section for weighting a motion vector in the adjacent coded MB, according to the weighting coefficient and calculating a predicted motion vector from the weighted motion vector. The weighting coefficient calculating section and the prediction motion vector generating section execute weighting, based on the residual signal and/or code amount in each MB for a motion vector in the adjacent coded MB, and sets the sum of weighted motion vectors as a prediction motion vector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
