There is disclosed a honeycomb structure having excellent thermal shock resistance. The honeycomb structure contains cordierite as a main component, and has an average pore diameter of 4 mum or more and 10 mum or less, a total pore volume of 0.18 cm3/g or more and 0.22 cm3/g or less, and Young's modulus of 4 GPa or more and 6 GPa or less.
