A separator for a non-aqueous lithium secondary battery is provided to prevent the deterioration of an electrode or a separator by stabilizing transition metal contained in an electrode. A separator for a non-aqueous lithium secondary battery comprises a main body of a separator; and a composite containing an organic compound and an inorganic compound which support the main body. The organic compound has a melting point higher than that of material configuring the main body of the separator. The inorganic compound comprises at least one element selected from the group consisting of 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 3B and 5B in a periodic table and is at least one selected from the group consisting of oxides, hydroxides, carbonates, phosphates, sulfates, nitrates and alkoxides. |
