A clutch control device of an air-conditioner for a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the stall of an engine by controlling the operation time of a clutch through hysteresis varied according to preset temperature and external air temperature in order to reduce noise. As to a clutch control method of an air-conditioner for a vehicle, the external temperature of a vehicle and user's preset temperature and temperature of cold air passing through an evaporator are detected. The hysteresis is extracted from data stored in a controller(40) in advance by corresponding to the external temperature and the preset temperature. Whether the cold air temperature of the evaporator deviates from the extracted hysteresis range or not is checked. The drive of the compressor is controlled in case the cold air temperature of the evaporator deviates from the range of the hysteresis.
