PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser clad processing device that can determine appropriately timing for starting laser irradiation and supplying metal powder to a processed part and operate stably as an actual machine for a long term with a simple structure, and a method for operating the same.SOLUTION: A laser clad processing device A comprises: a powder supply device 10 that supplies metal powder S to a processed part 41; a laser irradiation device 30 that irradiates laser to the processed part 41 and fuses the metal powder S to build up the processed part; and control means 50. The powder supply device 10 comprises a differential pressure gauge 22. The control means 50 memorizes as an initial value a gas pressure value which is measured by the differential pressure gauge 22 when the metal powder S supplied by gas pressure reaches the built-up processed part 41. During operation after the initial value is memorized, the control means 50, when the differential pressure gauge 22 measures pressure equal to the initial value, transmits to the laser irradiation device 30 a signal for starting laser irradiation, with the time when the pressure is measured as above as a reference time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
