PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyroelectric arranged so that a high pyroelectric coefficient (sensitivity) can be obtained with stability over a wide temperature range.SOLUTION: A pyroelectric comprises: an oxide including iron, manganese, bismuth and gadolinium. The oxide has a perovskite type crystal structure. The ratio of a number of gadolinium atoms to the total number of atoms of an A-site element is 8.0-18 atom%. The oxide is preferably an oxide arranged so that the ratio of a number of manganese atoms to a total number of atoms of a B-site element is 1.0-2.0 atom%. The ratio of a number of titanium atoms to the total number of atoms of the B-site element is preferably 0-4.0 atom%. It is preferred to use the pyroelectric at an environment temperature in a range of -40 to 40°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
