PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device capable of stabilizing a response performance to a request from a host, and to provide a rewrite processing method.SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device according to the embodiment comprises: a disk that includes a plurality of track groups each having a first write track and a second write track partially overlapping on the first write track; and a processing part that, for each of the plurality of track groups, counts the number of writings according to write processing to adjacent track groups, calculates a prediction time at which the number of writings reaches a specified value, reads recording data of the calculated track groups with the prediction times approximating when the track groups with the prediction times approximating are detected, and then executes rewrite processing for writing the read recording data into the track groups at an earlier time than the prediction time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
