PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow extremely low power consumption to attain a display formed by combining a still image display and a rewriting display.SOLUTION: A dot matrix type display device includes: pixel electrode sections P11 to Pmn that are formed at a crossing section of a gate signal line GLn and an image signal line DLn, and include a drive section circuit 64 selecting any of a rewriting drive and a still image drive; a gate signal line drive circuit 3 that arbitrarily selects one line of a plurality of gate signal lines GL1 to GL128 to turn on the selected signal line; and an image signal line drive circuit 4 that arbitrarily selects one line of a plurality of image signal lines DL1 to DL128 to turn on the selected signal line. The drive selection circuit 64 includes a holding circuit 62 for subjecting the non-selected pixel electrode part Pmn, to the still image drive. The holding circuit 62 is an SRAM, and n-channel TFT element and p-channel TFT element of the holding circuit 62 are controlled so that an off-leak current value is low.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
