PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire harness design apparatus configured to design a wire harness in consideration of costs, and a design method.SOLUTION: A wire harness design apparatus 1 includes: receiving means 20 of receiving harness information 32; display means 21 of displaying three-dimensional images of components excluding a wire harness, on the basis of three-dimensional CAD data of the components, on a screen of a display unit 5; determination means 22 which routes a three-dimensional image of the wire harness in a space between the three-dimensional images displayed on the screen of the display unit 5, on the basis of the harness information 32, to determine a route of the wire harness; and cable selection means 23 of selecting an available cable from prepared multiple kinds of cables, as a cable candidate constituting the wire harness, on the basis of destination information in the harness information 32, to select a cable to be used, on the basis of initial costs and running costs of the cable candidate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
