PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting scoliosis, and a method for screening a medicine for preventing or treating scoliosis.SOLUTION: A single nucleotide polymorphism that exists in a No.9 chromosome short arm 22.2 region (9p22.2 region) is analyzed, and onset risk and/or presence of onset of scoliosis is inspected based on the analysis result. Further, an mRNA of a BNC2 gene of an expression level of protein is measured, and scoliosis is inspected based on the measurement result. Further, screening of a medicine for preventing or treating scoliosis is performed by selecting a substance which changes the expression level of the BNC2 gene.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
