PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of suppressing budding of Perilla frutescen capable of providing effects of disease control, growth promotion, pest control, and improvement of quality, as well as suppressing budding, additionally, to provide a method of suppressing dormancy of strawberries capable of providing the effects of disease control, growth promotion, pest control, and improvement of quality, as well as suppressing dormancy, and furthermore, to provide a method of promoting accumulation of lignin in Perilla frutescen capable of promoting the accumulation of lignin in Perilla frutescens.SOLUTION: A method of suppressing budding of Perilla frutescen of the present invention is characterized by irradiating green light on a Perilla frutescen 13. Furthermore, a method of promoting the accumulation of lignin of Perilla frutescen of the present invention is characterized by irradiating green light on the Perilla frutescen.
