PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aroma generator for generating aroma, especially, the aroma generator which can be stored in a personal belonging such as wallet, business card holder and bag, and a pocket, or be put on the body and carried, and is reduced in a fear of wrong operation by a relatively small number of parts without spoiling an external appearance, and enabling thinning or downsizing.SOLUTION: A cartridge 20 having a filling area (impregnation member 22) for filling an aromatic agent is slidably stored in a case 10. The case 10 has a through-hole 12 for exposing the filling area of the stored cartridge 20. In the cartridge 20, an overlapping area in which the filling area is overlapped on the through-hole 12 becomes zero in a first position of a slide range, the overlapping area becomes maximum in a second position of the slide range, and the overlapping area is gradually or continuously changed by sliding the cartridge 20 in the slide range.
