PURPOSE:To obtain the present composition excellent in flame retardancy, heat stability, flexibility and appearance and useful as a coating agent for wire, by adding two specified compounds to an aromatic polyester polymer. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic dicarboxylic acid (esterifiable derivative) (a) is polycondensed with an aliphatic glycol (esterifiable derivative) (b) to obtain an aromatic polyester polymer (A) (e.g., polybutylene terephthalate). Component A is blended with 0.1-30wt.% compound (B) of an MW of 500-5,000, represented by formula I or II (wherein X is a halogen, Y1-2 are each OH, COOH, glycidyl ester or glycidyl ether, Z is an organic group, and n>=1), e.g., tetrabromoterephthalic acid and 0.1-30wt.% compound (C) of formula III (wherein L1-2 are each a three- to eight-membered cyclic reactive group selected from among the functional groups of formulas IV-VII, R1-3 are each a bivalent organic group, and the hydrogen atoms directly bonded to the ring may be substituted by alkyls and/or aryls, and M is a bivalent organic group), e.g., 2'-m-phenylenebis(2-oxazoline). |
