The solution concerns a pharmaceutical with gastroprotective and antisecretion effect intended for peroral and parenteral application. The active substance of the pharmaceutical according to the invention is vinpocetine or its water-soluble salt prepared by admixtures of equimolar quantity of inorganic or organic acid of physiologically harmless excipient. The pharmaceutical according to the invention in dose of 10 to 100 mg.kg<-1> prevents the formation of experimentally developed stomach ulcers by means of mobilization of endogenous prostaglandins.
