The distributor unit has each of the associated electrical leads inserted from 2 opposing directions, with a profiled current rail (6) extending transverse to these insertion directions. The electrical leads are inserted from one or other direction in alternation. Pref. the current rail (6) has a U-shaped cross-section with flanges (7) bent outwards at the ends of each arm (8), with lead insertion openings (12) spaced along the opposing arms, receiving the ends of the electrical leads. ADVANTAGE - Reduced size without reducing number of associated electrical leads.
