PURPOSE:To make it possible to continuously construct a tunnel having different diameters by incorporating an excavator having a smaller diameter into a shield excavator, sharing a driving device and a driving jack with both excavators, and forming cutters of both excavators in a separable manner respectively. CONSTITUTION:A shield jack 13 of an inside excavator 2 is extended to move a transfer table 14 backward, and force of the jack 13 is transferred to a large diameter segment 3 to drive a shield excavator. And, at the same time, a disc cutter 21 is rotated to take earth into a chamber 22, the earth is removed to the outside of a shaft and, at the same time, the large diameter segment 3 is assembled backward of the excavator 2. After that, when the diameter of a tunnel is changed into the diameter of a small diameter segment, a circular segment is mounted to the end of the segment 3, and the small diameter segment is mounted to the inside of the circular segment. Then, the connection of the cutter 21 with a circular cutter 12 is released. In addition, the jack 13 is extended to the small diameter segment, the excavator 2 is driven and, at the same time, the small diameter segment is assembled. |
