A video camera has a microprocessor controller (7) with infrared devices (4, 5) for focal control and outputs to zoom and normal focussing actuators (7, 8). These connect to the lens system (25). Pictures may be shown on the internal LCD screen panel (17) and can be either of the observed subject or of an image to be projected onto a surface (9).In the projection mode the output of a light source (27) is directed onto the panel, with the lens used for focussing. Signals can be from an external source (20) or from a recorder (26).
