Polyacetylene

Polyacetylenes obtainable by the reaction of (A) acetylenes of general formula (I) in which R is hydrogen, C1 to C10 alkyl in which the alkyl radical may be substituted by fluorine and/or chlorine, C1 to C10 alkoxy, C5 to C7 cycloalkyl, F, Cl, CN, -CONH2, -COOH, heteroaryl with 4 to 5 carbon atoms, C1 to C10 alkyl phenyl, phenyl in which the phenyl radical may be substituted by -NO2, fluorine or chlorine, with (B) a catalyst obtainable by the two-stage reaction of (B1) metal-C1 to C10 alcoholates, in which the metal is selected from the fourth to eighth group of the periodic system, with (B2) metal-C1 to C10 alkyls in which the metal is aluminium, magnesium or thallium, or metal acetyl acetonates or metal- pi complexes in which the metals are selected from the fourth to eighth group of the periodic system, the temperature in a first reaction stage being in the range from 20 to 50 DEG C and in a second reaction stage in the range of some 80 to 170 DEG C.
