PURPOSE:To enable stable ink emission by reducing the temp. irregularity of a recording head at the time of recording by a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recording head for recording using a plurality of electrothermal conversion elements 2 capable of generating heat energy utilized for the emission of ink, a memory 4 having the memory regions corresponding to the electrothermal conversion elements 2 and a gate circuit 7 for determining the current supply times of the electrothermal conversion elements 2 corresponding to the image data stored in the memory 4 are provided. When the image data stored in the memory 4 is '1', a preheating drive pulse for preheating ink and an emission drive pulse for emitting ink are supplied from the gate circuit 7. When the image data stored in the memory 4 is '0', only the preheating drive pulse is applied from the gate circuit 7. |
