SUCTION RECOVERY DEVICE OF INK JET RECORDING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized inexpensive color ink jet recording apparatus reduced in running cost constituted so as to perform suction recovery only of a clogged recording head by selectively and independently operating a plurality of pumps by a single motor to prevent the wasteful consumption of ink. CONSTITUTION:A pump selecting and driving means for selectively and independently driving the suction pumps 1a-1d respectively provided for a plurality of recording heads 11a-11d by a single motor 14 is provided. The suction pumps 1a-1d are reciprocating pumps each consisting of a piston 3 and a cylinder 2 driven by each of cams 6a-6d. The pump selecting and driving means consists of one cam shaft 7 driven by a motor 14 and the cams 6a-6d set to the cam shaft 7 corresponding to the suction pumps 1a-1d so as to separate the phases on the cam shaft 7 of the operation ranges of the suction pump 1a-1d at every pumps 1a-1d.
