PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to inexpensively produce a roller having a desired shape and size without using metal molds or resin molds by forming a raw material of an elastic layer on the surface of a shaft or mandrel by a spray system, then polishing the surface of the elastic layer after molding. SOLUTION: Another elastic layer 2 is formed at need on the shaft (mandrel) 1 and the raw material of the elastic layer is formed on its surface by the spray method and is cured. The curing method of this case is not particularly limited, for which known methods are usable. If the raw material is urethane, the urethane is preferably cured for several ten minutes to several hours in, for example, an oven heated to a high temp. The conditions for the spray system are not particularly limited, for which known conditions are adoptable. Next, the surface of the elastic layer after the molding is polished. The polishing method of this case is not particularly limited, for which known methods, such as traversing system or flange system, are usable. |
