PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the heat treatment to each of the preceding material and the following material in a target treating condition by calculating a line speed from the furnace temp., material target temp., size of the material and the number of revolution of a circulating fan and controlling the line speed so that the preceding material and the following material having different heat treatment conditions arrive at each targeted material arrival temp. of each material. SOLUTION: After connecting the preceding material with the following material heat treated in the furnace, a heating time Hx for keeping the mateal arrival temp. Tm1 of the preceding material at the constant with the equations I and II while changing the furnace temp. so that the following material approaches the furnace temp., is calculated and the line speed is controlled based on the arithmetic result of the line speed Lsx suitable to the time Hx. In the equation,ρ1 is the sp.gr. (kg/m<2> ) of the following material, Cp1 is the sp. heat of the same material under consideration of the temp. dependency, A1 is 2W1 (width of the same material)×1 m(m<2> ), V1 is w1×t1 (thickness of the same mateal)×1 m(m<3> ), a1 is heat conduction coefficient of the same material, Ln is natural logarithm, Tfx is the furnace temp. being changing, Tmo is inlet side temp. of this material and L is the furnace length (m). After the furnace temp. arrives at the furnace temp. for the following material, the furnace temp. is controlled as the same way in the passing process of the connecting part through the furnace.
