PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for thermal insulation coating finishing capable of forming a coating film with excellent thermal insulation, waterproofness and water repellency on the roofs and outer wall surfaces of buildings. SOLUTION: This method comprises the following processes: the surface of a substrate material is coated with (I) a thermal insulation coating material comprising (A) a resin emulsion, (B) expanded resin beads, and (C) cement in the volume ratios A/B and A/C of (100:50) to (100:800) and (100:2) to (100:80), respectively, on a solid basis, and the resulting coated surface is further coated with (II) a waterproofing coating material comprising (D) a copolymer aqueous dispersion prepared by emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture comprising (a) 50-98 wt.% of a (meth)acrylic >=4C alkyl ester, (b) 2-10 wt.% of a carbonyl group-contg. monomer, and (c) 0-48 wt.% of another polymerizable unsaturated monomer, and (E) a hydrazine derivative having group(s) containing at least two NHNH2 groups in one molecule. |
