PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a camera whose operation is easy and where display is confirmed in an easy-to-view state in accordance with the residual power of a battery as necessary without depending on the brightness of the ambient. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a battery detection circuit 25 detecting the residual power of the battery, an LCD 18 displaying the residual power of the battery detected by the detection circuit 25, an electroluminescent element(EL) 19 illuminating the LCD 18, and an EL driving circuit 20 lighting the EL 19 in response to starting or updating the display of the LCD 18; and the driving circuit 20 changes the lighting time of the EL 19 or switches the EL 19 to lighting or flickering in accordance with the residual power of the battery. |
