An artificial respiration device (1) comprising a respiratory device which provides a gas flow for respiration at an outlet (2); an inhalation tube (11) which is connected to the outlet (2) on one end; a double lumen endotracheal tube (4) whereby one lumen (5) thereof is connected to the other end of the inhalation tube (11) on the end thereof which is furthermost from the patient; flowmeters for measuring the gas flows in both lumens (5,6) of the endotracheal tube (4); pressure gauges for measuring the pressure on the ends of both lumens (5, 6) which are furthermost from the patient; an evaluation device for determining the flow resistance in a cross-flown lumen (5,6) on the basis of the gas flow measured therein and the measured pressure; and a device for outputting information on the flow resistance of the lumen (5,6). |
