PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact tool rest device capable of stably controlling a series of turret dividing operation. SOLUTION: A first servo motor 4 turns a turret 2 via pinion 6 and a ring gear 11. A second electric motor 5 deceleratingly and energizingly rotates a worm wheel 22 via worm 25a to move a feed screw 21 screwed with the worm wheel 22 in the turret turning axis direction. The feed screw 21 engages/ disengages a clutch 13 with/from the ring gear 11 and a toothed member 12 via a clutch holder 23 so as to clamp/unclamp the turret 2 to the tool rest 3.
