PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining tool for spot joining by which quality control is facilitated, running cost is improved, and indentations or the like do not remain in a joint. SOLUTION: A spot joining apparatus 1 has a joining tool 2, an induction motor 3 for rotating the joining tool 2, a support motor 4 for moving the joining tool 2 up and down along an axis L1, and a receiving member 7 arranged opposite to the joining tool 2. The tip part of the joining tool 2 is provided with a shoulder part 20 having a short columnar shape, and a pin 21 projecting to the lower direction along the axis L1 from the center in the lower face of the shoulder part 20. The tip part of the pin 21 is formed so that the center is swelled. The edge face of the shoulder part 20 is formed into a reverse-conical shape so as to be recessed to the inner direction in the axial direction of the shoulder part 20. The angular parts and sections are smoothly formed into a circular-arc shape.
