Method and device for compensating ghost images in time sequential stereoscopic images

The phosphor Lag effect shall be eliminated for a stereoscopic display. A corresponding method consists in calculating (51, 52) the ghost image due to the persistence of an image and withdrawing (31, 32) it from the next image to be displayed. It enables to remove the ghost image and permits the 3D effect to be rendered. However, the contrast of the image is all the more reduced, as the compensation is high. A compromise between the phosphor lag and the reduction of the contrast should consequently be found. <IMAGE>
