The operating method is used for regulation of room heating with a regulator directly associated with a heating device, a battery-operated remote-control device, a time clock and/or a room thermostat, communicating with the regulator via a radio link and has an energy-saving operating mode combined with a night-time operating phase initiated by the time clock, allowing the regulation and display of the room temperature within the remote-control device, the time clock and/or the room thermostat to be switched out or limited.
