The belt (4) is made of a suitable synthetic material which can be reinforced with steel cords (5) and is guided along a rail (2) with two lateral borders. The bottom (6) and the inner surfaces (11) of the border are provided with a multitude of openings (7, 10, 12) for the release of pressurized air forming a cushion for the work-piece (13) to be moved. A second rail (15), also supplied with pressurized air, is positioned upside down below the first rail (2), holding the lower segment of the endless belt (4).
