PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide more suitable information for a user by effectively using an environmental sound as to an apparatus and method for information processing enabled to effectively use the environmental sound generally regarded as noise, a recording medium, and a program. SOLUTION: A sound source specification part 15 specifies the sound source of a collected sound and an information acquisition part 16 acquires information relating to the collected sound from an information database 17 based upon information representing the sound source specified by the sound source specification part 15. An image editing part 18 edits a photographed image by using the information that the information acquisition part 16 acquires and a recording control part 19 records the image edited by the image editing part 18 in a recording part 20 together with the collected sound. Based upon an inputted sound, information relating to the inputted sound can be acquired to provide more suitable information with the user.
