<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trace data recording method, and its device or the like capable of effectively utilizing a trace memory by arranging trace data on the trace memory in a packed state such that there are no unused areas when data lengths to be written in the trace memory are different in accordance with status. <P>SOLUTION: In the trace data recording method, the status during CPU operation, and operating states of an address bus, data bus or the like are evaluated by an evaluation chip, and when a width of trace data to be written is smaller than a memory width with respect to trace data having a memory width having a maximum trace data width or more, trace data of a next cycle is arranged in the same address, or from the top of a next address in response to size, and writing is carried out while carrying out arrangement in a trace bus cycle.
