PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically detect and identify phishing mail. SOLUTION: E-mail attempting phishing is automatically detected and identified by the following procedures; retrieving a source code (215) of received mail (210), displayed text (220) for a recipient and an in-mail address list in the source code, generating (235) a normalized address list including all similar addresses by applying a visual character normalization process to each address (230) contained in the mail, generating (240) a list of modified addresses by removing the addresses contained in the mail from the normalized address list, determining (250) if each address in the modified address list is true or false from the respective modified addresses (245) by conducting a comparison test, if it is false, notifying the recipient of the fraud suspicion (270), if all addresses in the mail (260) are true considering (255) any modified addresses, notifying (265) the recipient that the mail is true.
