PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen molecule detection method executed easily and capable of detecting selectively an oxygen molecule. SOLUTION: The oxygen molecule (O<SB>2</SB>) is made to react with a pyridinyl pyrazine expressed by Formula (I) and a metallocenium ion expressed by Formula (II), and the oxygen molecule is detected indirectly by detecting a product in a reaction process hereinbefore, where R represents respectively hydrogen atom, an alkyl group and the like, X represents respectively N, CH and the like, and Y is an optional atomic group.
