PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling yarn line inspection method that inspects the condition of each of a plurality of yarn lines traveling in parallel on the same surface online at the same time, and obtains the defect information of each yarn line to thereby improve an yield by finding a process abnormality such as the fluctuation of a process condition early or performing the quality control of the yarn lines and yarn line packages. SOLUTION: The traveling yarn line inspection method inspects yarn lines traveling in parallel on the same surface. The traveling yarn line inspection method is provided with a first illumination means 2a and a line sensor for imaging the plurality of yarn lines on the side of the first surface of the traveling surface of the yarn lines and a second illumination means 2b on the side of the second surface, and includes a data processing means which processes data obtained by the line sensor and a recording means 8 which records data processed by the data processing means with time.
