PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack guide device having a constitution capable of absorbing variation of a parallel degree of a coil spring. SOLUTION: The rack guide device is provided with a rack shaft 15 slidably stored in a gear housing 11 and engaged with a pinion shaft 12; a retaining hole 22 formed on a back surface side of an engagement part of the rack shaft and the pinion shaft on the gear housing; a rack guide 23 slidably fitted to the retaining hole and slidably supporting the rack shaft in an axial direction; and the coil spring 26 interposed between the rack guide and a spring receiving member 25 fixed to the gear housing. A ring-like elastic member 30 seated with the coil spring is interposed in at least one between the rack guide and the coil spring and between the spring receiving member and the coil spring.
