Briefly, the invention is concerned with a wind energy apparatus including a tower and a cooling system within the tower in which heat to be dissipated from the cooling system is dissipated by the tower. In particular, the invention relates to a wind turbine comprising a wind turbine tower (1) resting on a foundation (17), heat-generating components (11) within the wind turbine tower, a first heat receiving means being arranged to absorb heat generated by the heat-generating components (11), first heat emitting means (20), and a conduit system connecting the heat receiving means and the first heat emitting means and circulating a cooling fluid between the heat receiving means and the first heat emitting means (20). The first heat emitting means (20) is attached to a circumferential part of the inner surface of the wind turbine tower (1) and transfers heat of the cooling fluid to the wind turbine tower (1) which dissipates the heat of the cooling fluid to the environment. |
