Provided are a method for predicting the service life of a battery cell and a battery management system using the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for predicting the service life of a battery cell includes the steps of: measuring charging and discharging the currents of a battery cell which can be charged and discharged; calculating a cumulative amount of currents based on the charging and discharging currents of the battery cell; estimating a charging and discharging cycle of the battery cell based on the cumulative amount of currents and a set depth of discharge (DOD); and comparing the charging and discharging cycle and service life cycle of the battery cell at the set DOD to determine whether to replace the battery cell. |
