The present invention relates to a wireless power transmission device and a method to check the firmware of the wireless power transmission device. According to an embodiment, the wireless power transmission device includes: an inverter which converts DC power to an AC waveform; a resonance circuit which includes a first coil to transmit power by magnetic induction combination of a receiving device with a second coil; a sensing unit which senses change of a current waveform flowing in the resonance circuit; and a control unit which generates a control signal and applies the control signal to the inverter to control the inverter by applying the control signal to the inverter and to transmit firmware data through the resonance circuit when power is applied based on the value measured by the sensing unit. The control unit generates the control signal by separating a bit 0 and a bit 1 which compose the firmware data and differentiates the amplitude of the AC waveform converted by the inverter by the control signal for the bit 0 from the amplitude of the AC waveform converted by the inverter by the control signal for the bit 1. Therefore, while not dissembling or breaking a wireless power transmitter, the present invention enables extraction of model data or firmware version data of the transmitter, prevents mixing of versions in products in the manufacturing process of the wireless power transmitter, and reduces the possibility of mass faults.
