PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a tumble flow, in an internal combustion engine formed with the tumble flow in a cylinder.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine having a pent-roof type combustion chamber, in a predetermined area near an opening portion to the combustion chamber at an intake port, an upper wall surface of the intake port generally linearly extends to an intake port side ceiling surface while inclining to a lower side than a normal direction of the intake port side ceiling surface, in a side view. In an area which is a part of the predetermined area in the intake port, in an upper surface view, a distance between side wall surfaces on right and left sides of the intake port is gradually increased toward a downstream side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
