[Problem] To provide a product having a softer feel to the hand when naturally extended. [Solution] The stretchable structure for an absorbent article comprises: two sheet layers (12S, 12H) extending in the stretching direction and a perpendicular direction perpendicular thereto; and a plurality of elongate elastic stretchable members (19) disposed apart from one another in the perpendicular direction between these sheet layers and extending in the stretching direction. The ends in the stretching direction of the elastic stretchable members are fixed ends (19f) fixed to the two sheet layers and free portions (19m) between the fixed ends are not fixed to the two sheet layers. The two sheet layers are bonded at regions (FA) between the free portions which are defined as regions between free portions adjacent in the perpendicular direction, thereby forming sheet bonding parts (20). When the two sheet layers are in a contracted state caused by contraction of the elastic stretchable members, the two sheet layers extend along each other in a corrugated shape.
