The collision-avoidance-device is configured for receiving a position information (111) of an obstacle (104) via a first input interface (105). Furthermore the collision-avoidance-device is configured for receiving a steering command via a second input interface. Furthermore, the collision-avoidance-device comprises a processing unit (106) that is configured for determining an adjustment of a steering parameter of the flight vehicle by processing the received position information of the obstacle. Said adjustment to the steering parameter is then transmitted to a steering device (102) of the flight vehicle via an output interface (107) such that the flight vehicle changes its flight behavior or flight profile such that it avoids a collision with the obstacle.
