PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the drive control device of a Mach-Zehnder optical modulator capable of performing stabilization control of bias even when the degree of modulation is 50%.SOLUTION: A drive control device includes: a high speed PD3 for converting an optical signal output from a MZ modulator 1 into an electrical signal; a pulse peak detection unit 4 for detecting the peak value of the electrical signal to output an output signal showing the peak value; a dither signal generation unit 5 for generating a dither signal; a synchronous detection unit 6 for multiplying the dither signal with the output signal of the pulse peak detection unit 4 to perform synchronous detection; and a bias set unit 7 for controlling bias related to modulation of the MZ modulator based on results of synchronous detection in the synchronous detection unit 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
