CONSTITUTION:In a positive electrode can 5, a positive electrode 4 obtained by adding a binder, etc., to manganese dioxide of a positive electrode active material and mixing them for molding, a separator 3 and a negative electrode 2 comprising light metal such as lithium are accommodated, and sealed by the use of a negative electrode 1 obtained by interposing a gasket 6, allowing a nonaqueous electrolyte battery to be formed. This positive electrode 4, taking gamma-manganese dioxide as a primary component, is formed like a pellet by adding graphite and the like being a conductive agent and a binder to said primary component, and copolymer resin of tetrafluoroethylene-ethylene is used as said binder at this juncture.
