The cover sealing ring (24) comprises a bearer or support ring (3), produced of rigid material such as iron, light metal, hard plastic or fibre-reinforced plastic, and a sealing ring consisting of an elastic, vulcanised rubber mixt. for sealing a casing (2) on the bulge (8) of a renewable or repairable tyre during vulcanisation in an autoclave. The outer dia. of the sealing ring in the unfitted and non-tensioned state is greater than the inner dia. (14) of the renewable tyre. The bearer ring (3) has a profile which stabilises the sealing ring predetermined position and thereby leaves an all-round intermediate space (5). The sealing surface (10) and the inner surface (22) of the sealing ring run parallel in the unfitted and non-tensioned state. USE/ADVANTAGE - To clamp over renewable or repairable tyre bulge inner surface it distributes equally the pressure from the sealing ring onto the cover over the complete bulge periphery.
