The mechanism has an oil transfer section (32), which extends in radial direction away from the central section, towards the circumferential surface of the piston (9). It opens that surface. The section moves between mechanism housing (1) and cylinder bore (1a), to coincide with the to-and-fro movement of the piston. It thereby feeds lubricating oil in the cooling medium gas from the inner section of the housing into the cylinder bore. A radial projection (30) on the piston circumference is located near the oil transfer section. It has a slide face (29a) inside the housing. This is located, to guide the projection along it, during the piston movement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Guide mechanism for piston of reciprocating compressor is used in air conditioning system in motor vehicle and/or cooling system. It has improved slide performance of piston relative to associated cylinder bores.
