Preparation of alkoxyalkanoic acids

A process for preparing an alkoxyalkanoic acid by reacting the corresponding alkoxyalkanol with a resin-supported stable free radical nitroxide in the presence of a chlorine-containing oxidant and a solvent at a temperature in the range of from about 0 DEG C. to about 35 DEG C. and thereafter separating out the alkoxyalkanoic acid.
