<p>The invention relates to a milking device and method for the automatic milking of animals in a milking parlour. The animals are housed in a dwelling area with dwelling stalls (11) which are suitable for permanent housing and are provided with boundary means, operated by control systems, for confining an animal. In order to prevent soiling of the aisles in the dwelling area, the milking device may comprise means for shortening the time that animals to be milked are present in the aisle.</p> |
